Etymology: < persuade v. + -able suffix. Compare post-classical Latin persuadibilis persuasive (10th cent. or earlier in a British source; < classical Latin persuādēre persuade v. + -ibilis -ible suffix). Compare earlier persuasible adj.With the form parsuadyble compare -ible suffix, and also Italian persuadibile (a1573 in sense 2; not paralleled in sense 1 until later (early 18th cent.); now rare).
