Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin pervenīre.
Etymology: < classical Latin pervenīre to arrive at, reach (a place), to come to the attention or knowledge of < per- per- prefix + venīre to come (see Venite n.). Compare Old French, Middle French parvenir to arrive (see parvenu n. and adj.).
Chiefly Scottish. Obsolete. rare.
