1935 Times Lit. Suppl. 23 Nov. 770/4 In my boyhood I often heard the term ‘pinion’, for gable, in Co. Waterford, Ireland; in fact the word was used to the exclusion of ‘gable’, and usually it was made an adjective—pinion-end.
