Origin: A borrowing from Italian. Etymon: Italian pizzaiolo.
Etymology: < Italian pizzaiolo pizza maker (1858), apparently < pizza pizza n. + -aiolo , suffix chiefly forming occupational terms ( < -aio -ary suffix1 + -olo , suffix forming diminutives: see -ule suffix).
A professional pizza maker, typically one who makes pizzas in the traditional Neapolitan style.
