Etymology: < post-classical Latin plethoricus plethoric (5th cent. in medical texts), plectoricus (c1230–50 in Bartholomaeus Anglicus) < Hellenistic Greek πληθωρικός (Galen) < πληθώρα plethora n. + -ικός -ic suffix.
