Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with English elements. Etymons: platy- comb. form, Greek κνήμη , -ism suffix.
Etymology: < platy- comb. form + ancient Greek κνήμη tibia (see cnemial adj.) + -ism suffix. Compare slightly earlier platycnemic adj., and slightly later platycnemia n., platycnemy n.
Physical Anthropology. Now rare.
