Pharm. 11 169; compare slightly earlier Polygalsäure (see polygalic adj.)). Compare French †polygaline (1836 or earlier).The name was introduced by J. Peschier (1769–1832), Swiss apothecary and chemist; the form Reschier in quot. 1830 is a misprint.
