Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: poly- comb. form, -mastia comb. form.
Etymology: < poly- comb. form + -mastia comb. form. Compare post-classical Latin polymastia (1839 or earlier), German Polymastie (1882 or earlier). Compare earlier pleiomazia n. at pleio- comb. form .
Medicine.
The congenital condition of having supernumerary breasts. Cf. polythelia n. at poly- comb. form 1.
