Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: poly- comb. form, domino n.
Etymology: < poly- comb. form + -omino (in domino n.); compare pentomino n. (and the etymological discussion at that entry). Compare also monomino n., tromino n., tetromino n.

A planar shape formed by joining a number of identical squares by their edges.
