Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin praedabilis.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin praedabilis liable to be taken away (10th cent.) < classical Latin praedārī to plunder, spoil (see pread v.) + -bilis -ble suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
Of a bird: liable or suitable to be preyed on or seized as prey.Apparently only in heraldic contexts.
