Etymology: < post-classical Latin premunitorius premonitory (14th cent. in British sources in litterae praemunitoriae premunitory letters) < classical Latin praemūnīt- , past participial stem of praemūnīre to fortify, in post-classical Latin also to forewarn (see premunition n. and praemunire n.) + -ōrius -ory suffix2.
Obsolete.
Premonitory. Only in premunitory clause: = praemunientes clause at praemunientes n.
