Etymology: < classical Latin praenuntiātus, past participle of praenuntiāre prenuntiate v.The word is attested only in the quots. below, where it translates classical Latin praenuntius (masculine) and praenuntia (feminine), uses as noun of praenuntius (see prenuncious adj.).
Obsolete.
A foreteller, a harbinger.Apparently an isolated use.

Etymology: < classical Latin praenuntiāt-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of praenuntiāre (in post-classical Latin also praenunciare) to announce in advance, to foretell < prae- pre- prefix + nuntiāre to announce (see nunciation n.). Compare Middle French prenoncier (a1506). Compare earlier prenunce v., pronunciate adj.1The form is found earlier in participial use: ?1550 J. Bale Apol. agaynste Papyst To Reader, f. vii v Many straunge wonders were sene, prenunciate afore by the Prophetes, and afterwards in the chronycles declared to be paste.
