Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymons: French proloingner, proloingnier, porloigner.
Etymology: < Anglo-Norman proloingner, proloigner, prolonier, proluigner and Middle French proloingnier (first half of the 12th cent. in Anglo-Norman), variants of porloigner, purloigner, etc. (see purloin v.). Compare slightly earlier purloin v. and later prolong v.
Obsolete.
