Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin prīdiānus.
Etymology: < classical Latin prīdiānus of or relating to the previous day < prīdiē (adverb) on the day before ( < pri or prī before (see prior adj.) + diēs day: see diurnal adj.) + -ānus -an suffix. N.E.D. (1908) gives the pronunciation as (pri·diăn) /ˈprɪdɪən/.
Obsolete. rare.
Of or relating to the previous day.
