Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin prōclīnātiōn-, prōclīnātiō.
Etymology: < classical Latin prōclīnātiōn-, prōclīnātiō condition of sloping or leaning forward < prōclīnāt- , past participial stem of prōclīnāre to cause to lean forward, to incline (see procline v.) + -iō -ion suffix1.
Chiefly Dentistry.
The condition (esp. of teeth) of being angled forwards; the degree of this. Also: realignment of a tooth into such a position.
