Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin prōclīnāre.
Etymology: Irregularly < classical Latin prōclīnāre (see procline v.). Compare earlier proclinate adj. and proclining adj., and later proclined adj.One of a series of parallel terms coined by Schubert and Cooper (see quot. 1932).
Palaeontology.
Esp. of an area of a brachiopod: = proclined adj.
