Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin prōclīnāre , -ed suffix1.
Etymology: Irregularly < classical Latin prōclīnāre to cause to lean forward, to incline (see procline v.) + -ed suffix1. Compare earlier procline adj.1, proclination n., and also proclinate adj.; compare later procline v.
Angled or tilted forward.
