Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: pseudo- comb. form, -logue comb. form.
Etymology: < pseudo- comb. form + -logue comb. form, largely after pseudologia n. or its etymon scientific Latin pseudologia. Compare Hellenistic Greek ψευδολόγος liar (see pseudologer n.). Compare earlier pseudologer n., pseudologist n. 1.
Chiefly Psychology.
A compulsive liar; a person suffering from pseudologia fantastica (see pseudologia n.).
