Etymology: < classical Latin pseudoperipterus (adjective) designating a form of building in which the walls are placed within the intercolumniations of a colonnade (Vitruvius; < ancient Greek ψευδο- pseudo- comb. form + Hellenistic Greek περίπτερος peripteros n.), in quot. 1882 via German Pseudoperipteros (1871 in the passage translated).
