Claparède 1902; now usually psychodiagnostique); in the specific sense after German Psychodiagnostik (1898 or earlier in general sense, 1921 in specific use with reference to Rorschach tests: see note).The term was largely popularized by the work of Hermann Rorschach (see Rorschach n.), who used it in his book Psychodiagnostik (1921) in connection with the ink blot tests which were named after him.
