Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: psycho- comb. form, -genic comb. form.
Etymology: < psycho- comb. form + -genic comb. form. In sense 2 after German psychogen (1899 or earlier; frequently in medical contexts). With sense 2 compare French psychogène (1908), psychogénique (1932). Compare earlier psychogenetic adj., psychogenetical adj.
1. Shaped or dominated by the deliberate activity of the human mind or psyche. Obsolete. rare.
