Etymology: < punctule n. or its etymon classical Latin punctulum + -ation suffix. Compare earlier punctulated adj.
Chiefly Zoology.
The condition of being punctulate; minute punctation. Also concrete: (each of) the tiny dots or puncta on a punctulate object or surface.
