Etymology: < post-classical Latin pyretologia (1623 or earlier; also 1665 (in Greek characters) in the title of a Latin work by W. Drage: compare quot. 1665) < medieval Greek πυρετο- pyreto- comb. form + ancient Greek -λογία -logy comb. form.
Medicine. rare (now historical).
A treatise on fevers; the description or classification of fevers.
