释义 | Pyun. historical. 1. A member of a people who flourished in ancient Burma (Myanmar) from the 1st cent. b.c. to the 9th cent. a.d. ΚΠ 1909 J. Stuart Burma through Cent. 25 Chinese history tells us that Imousün's father annexed the dominions of the Pyü, and that his son styled himself Piao-sin. 1920 Bull. School Oriental Stud. (1964) 1 iii.4 Tradition mentions other tribes, such as the Thet, the Sak, and the Pyu, as having existed side by side with the Burmese and been gradually incorporated with them. 1945 Times 28 Feb. 3/3 The Pyus were one of the early races who migrated into Burma before the Burmese. 1997 J.
