Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French pétrissage.
Etymology: < French pétrissage kneading (1767 in general sense) < the stem of pétrir pétrie v. + -iss- (see -ish suffix2) + -age -age suffix. Compare effleurage n. and slightly later pétrie v.
A kneading treatment used in massage.
