Origin: A borrowing from Guugu Yimidhirr. Etymon: Guugu Yimidhirr dhigul.

Etymology: < Guugu Yimidhirr (North Queensland region) dhigul, with loss of the first syllable within English.Compare the following early attestation of a disyllabic form, in an apparently isolated borrowing:1770 J. Banks Endeavour Jrnl. (1962) II. 117 Another [quadruped] was calld by the natives Je-Quoll: it is about the size and something like a polecat, of a light brown spotted with white on the back and white under the belly.
