Etymology: < classical Latin radius radius n. + -ary suffix1, after either French radiaires, plural noun (1803) or scientific Latin Radiaria (plural), former class name (1820 or earlier). Compare Radiata n.1
Zoology. Obsolete.
An animal of the former class Radiaria (in the systems of Lamarck, Owen, and others), including various radially symmetrical invertebrates.
