Etymology: < classical Latin rārissimē, literally ‘very rarely’, superlative of rārō rarely, seldom < rārus rare adj.1 + , suffix forming adverbs. Compare (with trisyllabic pronunciation) French rarissime, adjective (1544 in Middle French).
Extremely rare.
