Etymology: < Sanskrit rāsa round dance, especially a dance practised by Krishna and the gopis (also with vernacular pronunciation rās ). Compare earlier Rasa-yatra n.
A traditional Indian dance. Cf. Rasa-yatra n.In Hindu mythology the rasa was originally performed by Krishna and the gopis (gopi n.).
