Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; originally modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: recount v.1, -able suffix.
Etymology: < recount v.1 + -able suffix, originally after Middle French racomptable, racontable (c1200 in Old French; French racontable). Compare also Middle French recontable (13th cent. in Old French), Old Occitan recomtable.
