Etymology: < post-classical Latin recusativus concerned with denial or refusal (5th cent.; from 11th cent. in British sources) < classical Latin recūsāt- , past participial stem of recūsāre recuse v. + -īvus -ive suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
That tends to refuse or prohibit.
