单词 remble
释义

remblev.

Brit. /ˈrɛmbl/, U.S. /ˈrɛmb(ə)l/
Forms: 1500s–1600s remble; English regional (east midlands and northern) 1600s remmel, 1800s– remle, 1800s– rem'le, 1800s– remmle, 1600s 1800s– remble, 1900s– remmell.
Origin: Of uncertain origin. Perhaps formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: remove v., -le suffix 3.
Etymology: Origin uncertain. Perhaps < remove v. (compare the γ. forms at that entry), with substitution of -le suffix 3 for the second syllable; however, these forms are first attested later (late 17th cent.).A suggested connection with rime v.2 (see E. Peacock Gloss. Words Manley & Corringham (1877) 205/2) seems impossible on formal grounds.
English regional (east midlands and northern) in later use.
transitive. To move, remove, esp. forcefully. Also (occasionally) intransitive.
