Etymology: < remeid n. (compare forms at that entry) + -less suffix. Compare earlier remediless adj. and later remedless adj.Metrical evidence (compare e.g. quots. 1523, c1550, 1615) indicates that the word was apparently stressed on the second syllable.
Obsolete.
