Etymology: < post-classical Latin reiecticius, reiectitius outcast (a1520 in a British source), deserving rejection, useless (a1535), rejected, abandoned (a1536; < classical Latin rēiect- , past participial stem of rēicere reject v. + -icius : see -itious suffix1) + -ous suffix. Compare earlier rejectable adj.
Now rare.
Deserving of rejection; that rejects or discards; (also) rejected.
