Etymology: < classical Latin remūgīent-, remūgīēns, present participle of remūgīre to moo in reply, to respond with a deep or booming noise, to bellow back, (of places) to resound with the sound of mooing, (of a deep sound) to reverberate < re- re- prefix + mūgīre to bellow (see mugient adj.).
