Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from French. Or (ii) a borrowing from Latin. Etymons: French répudiable; Latin repudiabilis.
Etymology: < French répudiable that should or may be repudiated (c1512 in Middle French) or its etymon post-classical Latin repudiabilis that may be repudiated (6th cent.) < classical Latin repudiāre repudiate v. + -bilis -ble suffix. Compare earlier repudiate v., repudy v., repudious adj.
