Etymology: < Anglo-Norman and Middle French repassage (French repassage ) action of crossing (the sea, etc.) again, return journey (a1376) < repasser repass v.1 + -age -age suffix. Compare post-classical Latin repassagium recrossing, passage back (frequently from 1302 in British sources). Compare earlier passage n.
