Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: bi- comb. form, ocular adj.
Etymology: < bi- comb. form + ocular adj. In sense 2 probably after French bioculaire (1844 or earlier; 1801 or earlier in sense 1). Compare earlier monocular adj., and also binocular adj.
1. Zoology. Having two eyes. Obsolete. rare.
