1958 Bollettino d. Sedute d. Accad. Gioenia in Catania 4 533 A. Rittmann..defines ignimbrites... He discusses..their occurrence, structure and texture, comparing and contrasting them with flows of acid lavas and with secondary flows of ignimbrites, for which he proposes the term ‘rheoignimbrite’.
