Etymology: Probably < ridel v.2 (although first attested earlier) + -ed suffix1, after Anglo-Norman ridelé and Middle French ridellé pleated (c1300 or earlier in Anglo-Norman), wrinkled (third quarter of the 15th cent.).
Obsolete.
