1. A person who uses the right foot more naturally than the left; a person (esp. a sportsperson) whose right foot is stronger or more dexterous than the left. Cf. left-footer n. 1.In quot. 1864 with reference to an episode in Voltaire's Zadig (1747), in which the protagonist, Zadig, reconciles two religious sects divided by the question of which foot to use first when stepping into the Temple of Mithras.
