1905 D. S. Jordan Guide Study of Fishes II. 520 Genypterus capensis is the klipvisch of the Cape of Good Hope, and Genypterus australis the ‘Cloudy Bay cod’ or ‘rock ling’ of New England.
1987 E. M. Grant Fishes Austral. 168. 77/1 Growing to a length of 4 feet (1.2 m) and a weight of 20 lb (9 kg), the Rock Ling is normally found in shallow coastal waters to depths of about 30 fathoms.
