1. Of a person or vehicle: that circumnavigates the world; that travels or has travelled in an approximately circular route around the earth.This route is variously defined in spec. use (as Sailing), and typically involves crossing at least one pair of antipodal points, or covering a distance equal to or greater than that of the earth's great circle (see great circle n. at circle n. 2a).
