Compare French roumeliote (1827 or earlier as noun, 1830 or earlier as adjective). Compare earlier Rumelian n. With the use as adjective compare earlier Rumelian adj. and modern Greek ῥουμελιώτικος (now ρουμελιώτικος) of, relating to, or belonging to a Rumeliot.
