Any of the small carnivorous herbaceous plants of the cosmopolitan genus Drosera (family Droseraceae), typically found in damp places and having rosettes of leaves covered with reddish glandular hairs secreting drops of a clear sticky fluid which glitter in the sun and attract and trap insects; esp. (more fully common sundew, round-leafed sundew, round-leaved sundew) the European and North American species D. rotundifolia.
