Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French réchauffer.
Etymology: < French réchauffer to warm up again, reheat (see rechauffe v.). Compare earlier rechauffe v., réchauffage n., réchauffé adj., rechauffeed adj. O.E.D. Suppl. (1982) gives only the non-naturalized pronunciation (reʃofe) /reʃofe/.

transitive. To warm up again; (chiefly figurative) to rehash, rework. Cf. rechauffe v.Used only in the infinitive.
