On historical grounds, the names sabadine and sabine (for the ester and alkamine respectively) deserve preference. 1976 Jrnl. Neurochem. 27 1271/2 Veratrine sulfate consisted of the alkaloids veratridine, cevadilline, sabadine and cevadine.
