Saturnn.Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin Sāturnus. Etymology: < classical Latin Sāturnus Saturn, an ancient Roman god (commonly identified with the Greek Cronus), the planet Saturn, in post-classical Latin also lead (from 13th cent. in British sources; in this sense also saturnum).Compare Anglo-Norman and Old French, Middle French, French Saturne (frequently from the 12th cent. as the name of the Roman god and of the planet).
