Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly a borrowing from French. Partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: French savourable ; savour v., -able suffix.
Etymology: Partly (i) < Middle French savourable (c1226 in Old French as savorable ; < savorer , savourer savour v. + -able); and partly (ii) < savour v. + -able suffix.
Capable of being savoured; spec. pleasing to the taste.
