Etymology: < German Samsonit (Werner & Fraatz 1910, in Centbl. f. Mineral. 331) < Samson , the name of the mine where it was discovered (see quot. 19101) + German -it -ite suffix1.
Mineralogy.
A sulphide of silver, antimony, and manganese which occurs as black prisms with a metallic lustre.
